Directorate of Regional Services (RS)
The Commission recently re-structured its service delivery strategy with emphasis on using its Regional offices to implement the activities of the Commission at the grass root level. (Greater Regionalisation)
The Head office at Kampala is largely concerned with handling corporate affairs/policy matters, develop standard activity guidelines and offer a supervisory role of activities implemented by the various regional offices. The Directorate of Regional Services was subsequently created to coordinate this function.
Major roles of the Directorate of Regional Services include:
- Developing and ensuring standardized procedures for service delivery in the regions.
- Ensuring adherence to the harmonized positions on service delivery procedures by the regions through regular monitoring of regional offices.
- Synchronizing budgets and work plans for the regional offices and have a common document.
- Coordinating and linking regional offices’ activities with other Directorates of the Commission by acting as a point of reference at the Headquarters.
- Being the link and unit of Communication between the Regional offices and the Head office.
- Appraising and supervising regional offices by monitoring activities and operations in the Regional Offices.
- Creating and maintaining a data bank of information from regional offices for easy retrieval and referral
